Infant And Young Child Feeding (Outreach To Kuje Internally Displaced Persons Camp)

In accordance to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 which aims to: Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages, optimal nutrition is essential for achieving a safe and healthy world. Good nutrition in the first 1,000 days, from conception to two years of age (0 – 24 months), is critical to enable all children lead healthier and more productive lives. In its “Achieving the SDGs” report, Scaling Up Nutrition says that when women control the family income, children’s health and nutrition improves at a greater rate.

Envision Global Care Foundation, in partnership with The Federal Ministry of Health and Wellbeing Foundation Africa organized an outreach on the 19th September, 2018 to the Kuje IDP camp in Abuja, Nigeria with the aim of sensitizing the women and men on the importance of proper nutrition. It entailed a proper lecture on breastfeeding and complementary feeding, as well safe preparation and HIV care.
